Must have 24 months of Real Estate experience within the past 5 years to be eligible to become a licensed Broker.
- May be employed by one or more active Brokers, Government Agencies as an employee performing Real Estate Licensee duties, or out-of-state Broker Licensee for 24 months during the past 5 years.
- Experience can be from any State or Foreign Country with a Real Estate Licensing Board
- Time working for an Owner-Developer does not qualify.
- If licensed in another State, the application must include a notarized letter from the State's Real Estate Commission certifying the time periods that the applicant was actively licensed, and the licensee's disciplinary history.
Must have completed the Sales Associate 45-hour Post License Course requirements if became licensed as a Florida Sales Associate after Jan.1, 1989.
During the first renewal period (18-24 months from the date the license was issued), the Broker must complete a Broker 60-hour Post-Licensing (two 30-hour courses) or the Broker's License becomes Null and Void. Brokers need 14 hours of Continuing Education every 2-year renewal cycle thereafter.
